Governors

Lyn has lived in the village for over 20 years. Both of her now adult children attended the school. She has been involved in the community in various ways over the time she has lived in the village, being a parish councillor before becoming a school governor. She is currently Chair of Governors. In addition to being a governor she works part-time at UEA and is an ordained minister in the Church of England. She enjoys making music and reading.

Peter is retired after 47 years working in commercial property management mainly for Aviva (Norwich Union) and latterly for clients throughout the UK. He is married with 2 grown up children and has lived in Stoke Holy Cross most of his life. He has a Diploma in English Local History (UEA) and has a continuing involvement in local history research particularly the built environment. He also has an interest in heritage aviation. He has been a Governor since 2013 focusing on finance, premises management and safeguarding. He also volunteers in the school on a regular basis listening to children read.

Jeannette was appointed Headteacher at Stoke Holy Cross Primary School in 2017, having been the school’s Deputy Headteacher prior to that. When Jeannette is not at school, she can be found hiking the hills, with Moss the school dog.

Stu currently teaches in Year 4 and is also our Deputy Headteacher. He has been teaching for almost 20 years and joined Stoke 8 years ago. He currently leads English, curriculum and assessment and works with the School Council too - making sure that the children get a voice in how their school is run. Although kept busy at home after his wife gave birth in October, when he can, he enjoys nothing more than playing golf, watching Norwich City or going for a long walk in the countryside.

Sian is the Reception class Teacher at Stoke Holy Cross Primary School. She is a qualified Teacher of the Deaf and is the curriculum lead for Art and Computing.

Alex has a strong background in the education sector, with over 15 years of experience and a current role as a Regional Operations Manager for an Education Recruitment and Training company. His decision to join the Governing Board in February 2023 and actively contribute to his local primary school demonstrates a commitment to supporting the community and the school's improvement journey. Alex not only brings professional experience but also a personal connection to the school as his daughter is attending in reception. This personal investment can further motivate him to contribute effectively to the school's development. Given his extensive experience in supporting Norfolk Primary, SEND, and Secondary schools, as well as working closely with Multi-Academy Trusts (MATs), Alex has a broad understanding of the challenges and opportunities within the education sector. His overarching goal of helping Stoke Holy Cross Primary become the best it can be for the community, aligns well with the objectives of a Governing Board.

Jenny was appointed as a parent governor in September 2023. She works as a manager in higher education. She is proactive, experienced, thinks creatively, and enjoys developing people. Jenny hopes to add value through her skills and expertise, and to support the long-term ambitions, growth and sustainability of a happy and nurturing school. In her spare time, she enjoys walks with her border terrier, trips to the beach, reading poetry and eating ice cream in the sunshine.

Antonio became a parent governor recently when his daughter joined the school. His background was in food technology and more recently in the wine sector. His work entails quality assurance, health and safety and environmental management. I hold a remit in school finance which involves budgeting and monitoring expenditure.

Aaron joined the Board of Governors in 2023. He is Managing Director of CADS, a leading UK provider of retail space planning, technology-led surveys and space management software and responsible for around 100 staff. He is a Chartered Accountant and graduated the University of East Anglia with an Executive MBA in 2013. He has two girls in attendance at Stoke Holy Cross Primary. Aaron has decided to further involve himself in the running of the school in order to support the local community and will focus on finance and the Pupil Premium.

Amanda has 3 children who have attended the school, one now in 6th form, and the others currently in years 4 and 6. She said she feels invested in the school, and wants to use her skills to support in any way she can. With a background in Mental Health, SEND and Family Support, gained over many years within the education and charitable sector, she feels she can use this to support the school with improving outcomes in these areas. Amanda currently works for the Local Authority in Adult Social Care, and has already completed a number of training courses to support governor duties since being elected to the board in October 2023.

Mark is a former pupil and his step-daughter currently attends the school. He is the Director of Data and Performance for Inspiration Trust, a Multi-Academy trust in Norfolk and North Suffolk. He has worked for the trust since 2013 and provides Schools with detailed analysis and insights on all aspects of school data to assist with the improvement of outcomes and opportunities for pupils when they leave. Mark also serves as an Academy Committee Member at Hethersett Academy in Norfolk. Mark is committed to improving the life chances of young people through his work and is proud to be having a voice for the pupils and families of Stoke Holy Cross Primary to ensure all pupils have the environment in which to succeed. He is the nominated governor for Data and Data Protection.
